Photo access
Why does GrabStack ask to see my photos?
GrabStack needs to see your screenshots to show and organise them. On iPhone, iOS has no screenshots-only permission, so it asks about your photo library, and GrabStack then reads only the items iOS marks as screenshots. On Android, GrabStack reads only the images in your Screenshots folders. It never reads your videos or the location stored in your photos, and your screenshots never leave your phone unless you use stack suggestions.
I gave access to selected photos only. What does that mean?
GrabStack can only see the screenshots you picked, so new screenshots will not appear on their own. You can pick more from inside GrabStack, or let it see your whole Screenshots album:
- iPhone: open Settings, tap Apps, then GrabStack, then Photos, and choose Full Access.
- Android: open Settings, tap Apps, then GrabStack, then Permissions, then Photos and videos, and choose Allow all. The exact names can differ slightly between phone makers.
GrabStack shows no screenshots. What should I check?
First check that GrabStack is allowed to see your photos, using the steps above. If you turned access off, GrabStack shows a button that opens your phone's settings. If access is on and you have only just taken a screenshot, close GrabStack and open it again so it can check for new ones.
Stack suggestions
Why do stack suggestions ask for my permission?
Everything else in GrabStack happens on your phone. Stack suggestions are different: to suggest a stack, GrabStack sends smaller copies of the screenshots you pick to Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, through our server. We think you should know that and agree to it before anything is sent, so GrabStack asks the first time you use them.
If you have Pro, there is also a setting that suggests stacks for new screenshots automatically. It is off until you switch it on, and GrabStack asks for your agreement again on its own screen before it sends any new screenshots.
Our server does not keep the images. Anthropic does not use them to train its models by default and deletes them within 30 days, with the exceptions explained in our privacy policy.
How do I turn stack suggestions off?
Open GrabStack, tap the Settings button and switch stack suggestions off. Nothing more is sent after that, including automatic suggestions for new screenshots if you have Pro. You can still organise your screenshots into stacks yourself.
Why did a suggestion stop working?
Stack suggestions need an internet connection and have a monthly allowance, which the app shows you. If you have used this month's allowance, it resets at the start of next month, or you can upgrade to Pro for a larger one. If something went wrong on our side, the screenshots do not count towards your allowance, so you can try again a little later.
GrabStack Pro
How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?
Sign in to the same Apple Account or Google account you used to buy Pro, open GrabStack, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases. There is no GrabStack account, so your purchase is linked to your store account.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google, so you cancel them there. Deleting GrabStack does not cancel a subscription.
- iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then GrabStack, and tap Cancel Subscription. Do this at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Android: open the Google Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then GrabStack, and tap Cancel subscription.
Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
How do I ask for a refund?
Apple and Google take the payment, so they handle refunds. On iPhone, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, follow Google Play's refund steps.
Your data
How do I delete my GrabStack data?
Open GrabStack, go to Settings and tap Delete all GrabStack data. This removes your library list, stacks, Want list, the text read from your screenshots, your settings and consent choices, the app's saved copies and thumbnails, your reminders and the install ID from your phone. Deleting the app does the same. Your screenshots in Photos are not touched.
Pro is not lost, because it belongs to your Apple or Google account. After deleting, tap Restore purchases in Settings to turn it on again.
If you would also like us to delete the usage counters on our server, copy your install ID first (Settings, About, Install ID), then email it to us. A new install ID is created after you delete everything.
Will deleting GrabStack delete my screenshots?
No. Your screenshots stay in your phone's photo library. GrabStack only deletes a screenshot when you choose to, for example in Clean up, and you are always asked to confirm first. On iPhone and on Android 11 and later, your phone shows its own confirmation. On Android 10 and older, GrabStack shows the confirmation itself.
Does GrabStack have an account or track me?
No. There is no sign-in, no advertising, no tracking and no analytics of how you use the app. Our privacy policy lists exactly what leaves your phone and when.
